Dems for McCain

Is this the Republican Party’s concept of Manifest Destiny in 2010?

Let’s revisit the Wikipedia on this historic concept:

Context and interpretations

Manifest Destiny was always a general notion rather than a specific policy. The term combined a belief in expansionism with other popular ideas of the era, including American exceptionalism, Romantic nationalism, and a belief in the natural superiority of the English-speaking peoples (at the time often called the “Anglo-Saxon race”). While many writers focus primarily upon American expansionism when discussing Manifest Destiny, others see in the term a broader expression of a belief in America’s “mission” in the world, which has meant different things to different people over the years. This variety of possible meanings was summed up by Ernest Lee Tuveson, who wrote:

A vast complex of ideas, policies, and actions is comprehended under the phrase ‘Manifest Destiny’. They are not, as we should expect, all compatible, nor do they come from any one source.[4]

John L. O’Sullivan, sketched in 1874, was an influential columnist as a young man, but is now generally remembered only for his use of the phrase “Manifest Destiny” to advocate the annexation of Texas and Oregon.

Journalist John L. O’Sullivan, an influential advocate for the Democratic Party, wrote an article in 1839 which, while not using the term “Manifest Destiny”, did predict a “divine destiny” for the United States based upon values such as equality, rights of conscience, and personal enfranchisement– “to establish on earth the moral dignity and salvation of man”. This destiny was not explicitly territorial, but O’Sullivan predicted that the United States would be one of a “Union of many Republics” sharing those values.[5]

What your party is promoting has nothing to do with MORAL DIGNITY. In fact?  I would say that you have created a climate of MORAL OUTRAGE  because of what you have done in your political party.

Watch this video:

It seems to me, Senator John McCain, that you should have known better.  I cast my vote for you because of what had happened to Hillary Clinton in 2008.  I trusted that you would know what you were doing?  As an “elder” in American politics.  I had no idea just what was behind your vice presidential pick.  I just trusted you.  What a mistake that was.

I’m going to assume that there are some educated women in your political party?  There must be.  Civilized women.

Because otherwise, what your party is looking like is the biggest dumb down the civilized world has ever seen.

Basically you are supporting inbreeding and worse things in your political party.  I hope you realize that, Senator McCain.

I liked your book “Faith of my Fathers.”

Somehow, I don’t think your fathers, and my fathers, because of our MORAL STANCE as Americans could support something like this, do you?

Perhaps you can enlighten your political party, Senator McCain.  About what a Shattered Soul is.

I have never seen such a sick political stance in my entire life.

I suggest you read this document as well, Senator McCain.
