I think John McCain has been taking a good hard look at America as he’s traveled around. I don’t think it must look as prosperous to him as it did 8 years ago. It doesn’t to me, in my own travels. Like I said, one group of people I worked with as a therapist were the homeless. These people often were “made homeless” because they lost their jobs, and couldn’t find another one.

When you think about this in terms of the infrastructure of the country itself, you realize that everything in the USA hinges upon people actually having jobs here. You see, if a person doesn’t have a job, they aren’t going to be consumers. If there are no consumers, businesses will dry up and go out of business for lack of sales.

In America, part of the American Dream has been “upward mobility” — only? Decisions by crooked CEO’s all over this country have absconded either with people’s life savings, 401k’s, and basically whatever they could. This is WRONG. But nobody has called them on it. I believe John McCain can and will. For one thing, I know he doesn’t like the fat cat salaries those CEO’s make! Here is an article from the New York Sun, and what he had to say!

“…Something is seriously wrong when the American people are left to bear the consequences of reckless corporate conduct while the offenders themselves are packed off with another $40 million or $50 million for the road,” Mr. McCain said in an address here to the National Federation of Independent Business…”

I agree. Everyday when you open up your newspaper, the headlines are all about mass layoffs. This whole country of ours is sliding into a very bad, bad place because of corporate greed! Is it moral, ethical or fair for these fat cats to get away with all that cash and dump the American people as they please? No. John McCain knows that, because he has fantastic values. Ethical values. Moral values. American values.

What he is going to be taking on is the greed and broken infrastructure here on the homefront. That is GREAT! We need that! And he is just the heroic MAVERICK to do it. That is why he says “COUNTRY FIRST” in this ad, just released. Who is going to keep watch over this country of ours? Who except somebody like John McCain?

It isn’t McCain’s fault that millions of jobs in America have been outsourced. Like say, the making of our American Flags. I read a funny piece in the web yesterday about something he was telling a bunch of factory workers who still MAKE some of our flags right here! The thing is, we should be manufacturing our own damn flag, shouldn’t we? And the thing is, just use the AMERICAN FLAG as a metaphor for all the manufacturing that has slipped “elsewhere” (like overseas) of late… and you’ll catch my drift …here is his ad:

When he says “COUNTRY FIRST” I believe him. He means it. He puts others ahead of himself, and he believes in a cause “Greater than Self.” This is HEROIC stance of a TRUE LEADER. Another thing about him? He knows how things like fascism or communism can get started. Fascism tends to happen when a country is in a weak place economically. Why somebody has let our country slide into a place where that might happen? I don’t know. But, John McCain isn’t going to let that happen here. He won’t.

For one thing, he has a fantastic businesswoman to help him in Carly Fiorina. That is her forte! Business!

Here is an article from the Christian Science Monitor on her, you can hear her speak on a little video, and she had this to say about John McCain’s plans for America:

“…Ms. Fiorina, the former Chairman and CEO of Hewlett Packard, replied, “A focus on job creation. The American dream starts with a job. It is all about growing jobs…”

“…McCain began a speech in Denver on Monday noting that, “More than 400,000 people have lost their jobs since December, and the rate of new job creation has fallen sharply.”

Acknowledging that gas and food prices are up dramatically, McCain stressed, “I have a plan to grow this economy, create more and better jobs, and get America moving again…”

How refreshing to hear a candidate like John McCain address this issue! The creation of jobs, and the elimination of people who are “cheating” the American Worker! Who else but he would have that kind of moral stance? NOBODY! That is why he is the best choice for PRESIDENT right now! He has plans, and he isn’t afraid to look into the corruption that presently exists. He is just like Robin Hood, and that makes him a HUGE HERO to me. Besides, I bet he’s thinking of all those veterans who are going to be coming home too. He won’t want to see any men and women who served be homeless afterwards, would he?

This job he wants to take on in Washington is huge! But, with all his experience, he’s the man to do it. America knows that, don’t we?

Now, I read a little something the other day on Kerry, saying McCain was all wrong. Funny, they were both Vietnam Veterans, weren’t they? Hmmm.

The more I reflected on that, I wondered if this had something to do with ETHANOL. Then I wondered if this was one of those PORKY types of deals, my personal MAVERICK Candidate can’t stand! You know, I sense something porky and cornpone going on with this deal, no? Here is the story off the NYT, don’t miss it!

It’s all about the corn, no? The CORN, except, McCain has other ways of getting us fuel that are healthier, like Sugarcane…is this why Iowa was so behind guess who? Hmm….

But, back to McCain and those jobs of his. Let’s go see what he has to say over at his place!

Bolstering Job Security and Assisting Displaced Workers

Reforming The Unemployment Insurance (UI) System:

John McCain Believes We Should Have A Single, Seamless Approach To Job Transition Assistance. The UI system must be more effective in helping those who have lost a job. John McCain will modernize and transform our current programs by consolidating redundant federal programs, strengthening community colleges and technical training and giving displaced workers more choices to find their way back to productive and prosperous lives.

John McCain Will Reform The UI System So That A Portion Of Each Worker’s Unemployment Insurance Tax Is Deposited Into A Lost Earnings Buffer Account (LEB). If an individual becomes unemployed, the LEB may be used to cover needed expenses, with a backstop of traditional UI if the account is exhausted before 26 weeks. Workers will have an incentive to preserve their LEB by getting back to work quickly, and may be eligible for a re-employment bonus if they get a new job quickly. The LEB will be portable, and upon retirement, the property of the worker.

John McCain Will Reform Training Programs To Provide Quick Assistance To Workers Seeking New Skills. Workers will have access to a flexible training account that permits them to pay for training at a community college and use leftover funds to keep their health insurance.

John McCain Will Provide Special, Targeted Assistance For Older Workers. Because training is often inefficient for older workers, those 55 years of age and older who have built up an LEB will be eligible for a Lost Earnings Supplement. The supplement of up to 50 percent of their earnings loss (up to a maximum of $10,000) for two years will be rewarded for those who find work inside 26 weeks.

That would be how our hero is thinking, as he travels and sees the whole country…

I absolutely see him as a Humphrey Bogart, in a set of Fedoras, Panama hats and a stylish Trench coat touring this country in a Corvette. He’s just like that, and totally an AMERICAN GOOD GUY!

John McCain has plans for Americans. He sees the crisis we are in regarding energy, and jobs. His plans are strong, concrete and visionary at the same time. He offers LEADERSHIP to an exhausted AMERICA. In fact, his ZEST is what AMERICA needs. One of the things I like the most about him is his STRONG, FIERCE SPIRIT. And his HEROIC NATURE. He is a lot like President Teddy Roosevelt, who was FEARLESS when he championed necessary reforms.

John McCain is interested in creating lots of industry in AMERICA. This is the best thing about him. He cares about US! And he wants to foster tremendous innovation here, in terms of how we produce ENERGY. He is aware that we need both short and long term plans for this, and so he offers actual SOLUTIONS for right now!

I feel that John McCain is thinking “America First” when I look at this ad. He is a maverick who won’t play along the pork barrel party line, like others have and are. We need a President we can TRUST. McCain’s stance is solid, balanced, and he brings fresh ideas in a time when American’s need a joyful burst of cultural Nationalism. This makes him a rogue, but also, VISIONARY!

One thing I loved in this ad above, was the honeycomb motif. I think all the time about the “colony collapse” disorder facing our bees, globally. To see this in the ad, shows me that the Republican Party is also aware of this. McCain has to manage the “old grid” while building “the new grid.” His nature is PROGRESSIVE, BALANCED, INTEGRATED and PLANNED.

Here is what he had to say over at the The Wall Street Journal right before the Fourth of July:

“…To get our economy back on track, we must enact a jobs-first economic plan that supports job creation, provide immediate tax relief for families, enact a plan to help those facing foreclosure, lower health care costs, invest in innovation, move toward strategic energy independence and open more foreign markets to our goods,” McCain said in a statement…”

When I read this next part of the article it was music to my ears, and I bet, music to a lot of Green Progressives’ ears as well! He believes in Green Ideas for the long run in our country. Since we have such VAST resources available in terms of solar (the sun in our deserts) wind, (our deserts, mountains and passes) and water (the sea, and our rivers) McCain will COMMAND all of these natural forces to produce the energy AMERICA needs.

“…He acknowledged the challenges facing the U.S. economy, and reiterated his plan to use energy alternatives to boost the economy. “I believe the green technologies in the United States of America will create millions of jobs, if not hundreds of thousands. I believe that green technologies — whether it be nuclear power or hybrid cars, or battery-driven cars, or wind and solar or tide – are directly the factor that will improve America’s economy and get us on our feet again,” McCain said…”

Using the power of the sea and tides is a very positive step to a green future. I was thinking of the time McCain was at sea in the Navy, from his book “Faith of my Fathers” and so I wondered about how the Navy under John McCain’s expert command, might take a look at this video, to see what is being done already to harness the immense power of the sea. This could be a part of McCain’s extraordinary LEXINGTON PROJECT in the future, perhaps… (we already have such an incredible Navy!)…

Coming from the same time Moyers did, Progressive Republicans would want the same reforms as Greens I bet. It’s just that we all are aware of what faces our planet, right now. How to emerge from an “old grid” to a “new grid” is what McCain will be best at shepherding. It’s on his web page, for all of us to see…

I think a lot of us feel very scared about nuclear, because of the waste. Could that industry make the shift, using all its engineers to a different model? Here is more on the power of the Ocean from “The Ocean Energy Council.”

The tides along the Northwest coast fluctuate dramatically, as much as 12 feet a day. The coasts of Alaska, British Columbia and Washington, in particular, have exceptional energy-producing potential. On the Atlantic seaboard, Maine is also an excellent candidate. The undersea environment is hostile so the machinery will have to be robust.

Currently, although the technology required to harness tidal energy is well established, tidal power is expensive, and there is only one major tidal generating station in operation. This is a 240 megawatt (1 megawatt = 1 MW = 1 million watts) at the mouth of the La Rance river estuary on the northern coast of France (a large coal or nuclear power plant generates about 1,000 MW of electricity). The La Rance generating station has been in operation since 1966 and has been a very reliable source of electricity for France. La Rance was supposed to be one of many tidal power plants in France, until their nuclear program was greatly expanded in the late 1960’s. Elsewhere there is a 20 MW experimental facility at Annapolis Royal in Nova Scotia, and a 0.4 MW tidal power plant near Murmansk in Russia. UK has several proposals underway…”

It’s one thing to pose with a fake Presidential Seal and make yourself look like a complete fool to the American Public. Not to mention all the Democratic voters who wanted Hillary Clinton for President…and voted for her instead of you.

It’s another to promise one thing to Senator McCain regarding fund raising and then go back on your word, isn’t it? These things are troubling. Very, very troubling.

The best story comes out of Aspen, Colorado from The Aspen Times… this morning. Don’t miss this read! The last few grafs are priceless. I hate to be the spoiler, but the writer Addison Garner nails it:

“…Sen. Obama, Abraham Lincoln had it right: “You cannot fool all the people all the time.” You cannot take a vow of pubic-finance piety — then give us a head-fake — and grab the bundled corporate cash. Voters notice.

Nor can you ignite a wall of racial animus, dance behind the flames, and then claim that your true mission is one of American unity and “post-racial” reconciliation. We hear you, Sen. Obama; but, increasingly, we also see you.

Don’t polish that presidential seal prematurely…”

There is also the no small matter of your forged Birth Certificate? It’s only a tad alarming, to any thinking voter. No, make that VERY alarming. Where is your REAL Birth Certificate? And, it certainly is audacious to think you could hope your way through this one now, no? It seems to me that our Government ought to intervene on this. Something seems wrong, doesn’t it? And since when is it up to a blogger to produce a document for you?

Over at Stop-Obama.org they have this up regarding the “Birth Certificate” matter.

Funny, The DNC sent a fundraising letter. It arrived yesterday. But, you aren’t getting one cent. Not a cent. Hillary Clinton was our candidate of choice, not you. You aren’t going to get any money and you aren’t going to get support, or our votes around here. Even the wording in the letter was bogus. I quote from your letter:

“We’re the party of a man who told us the only thing we had to fear was fear itself; and who faced down fascism and liberated a continent from tryanny”

Well, I think that is going to happen. John McCain is going to LIBERATE us from YOU! He will!

You see, you’ve tried to pull off some very strange things in this election, already. Haven’t you?

Why didn’t you stick to what you told John McCain about financing? It’s not as if the public hasn’t noticed, is it? Or how about the FEC? How about the FEC and all the things that happened this year, especially when it was “on shut down.” Maybe we ought to refresh our memory over at Democracy21.org, and then watch a little film on all of this, no? Concerned Americans want to know more about your involvement regarding this whole issue, don’t we?

Perhaps we should revisit something that the head of Democracy21.org said back in 1999, from the NYT:

A New Form of Soft Money Belies Much Talk of Reform

”…The problem with these PAC’s is their Cayman Islands quality,” said Fred Wertheimer, the president of Democracy 21, a public policy organization here. ”Secret, unlimited money is about as dangerous as you can get in American politics in terms of corrupting the system.”

Larry Makinson, the executive director of the Center for Responsive Politics, said that nobody knew how many soft-money PAC’s were in operation in individual states by Senate and House members.

”This is a completely invisible, brand new area of fund-raising,” Mr. Makinson said…”

See, the whole problem a lot of us are having? It’s all about your CHARACTER! You thought people were just going to love your little hopey, unity, message didn’t you?

Except, no, what we wanted to see this year was CHARACTER! In the candidates for President of the United States. Because it COUNTS! So do ETHICS, don’t they?

You know, you seem FAUX and McCain seems GREAT! to this now ex-Democrat.

I know who I’m going to vote for now, strictly on CHARACTER, after what you pulled on Hillary Clinton, what you have pulled in terms of fundraising, how you broke your word to John McCain, how you allowed a forged Birth Certificate to appear in the web, and made a cheesy PRESIDENTIAL SEAL way in advance of even being named a nominee in Denver.

Don’t expect any unity from this voter, EVER! McCain will get my vote. Here is why:

The Character Factor

McCain HAS IT! — read the op-ed by David Brooks:

“…Telling the truth is a skill. Those who don’t do it habitually lose the ability, but McCain is well-practiced and has the capacity to face unpleasant truths. While other conservatives failed to see how corporations were insinuating themselves into their movement, McCain went after Boeing contracts. While others failed to see the rising tide of corruption around them, McCain led the charge against Jack Abramoff. While others ignored the spending binge, McCain was among the fiscal hawks.

There have been occasions when McCain compromised his principles for political gain, but he was so bad at it that it always backfired. More often, he is driven by an ancient sense of honor, which is different from fame and consists of the desire to be worthy of the esteem of posterity…”

And, this was interesting. It’s kind of a strange choice of colors for the menu selection isn’t it?

Funny, just how are you going to let your biggest meanest supporter get her “greasy fix” all cooked up out of those things when you have no plans to serve fried things. Let’s try and dream up a menu for the DNC.

“…The Democratic guidelines say every meal should be nutritious and include “at least three of the following colors: red, green, yellow, purple/blue and white…”

Let’s see:

You could have guacamole and salsa cruda on blue corn chips with sour cream.

You could have yellow cornbread, grits, collard greens, baby purple potatoes and sliced tomatoes.

You could have a really large white cake, with artificial frosting colors, no? That would be so faux real and surreal at the same time. But first? Maybe you better get going on that Birth Certificate deal. especially before you declare yourself the nominee like you did in that letter that just came, no?

It’s not nice to try and pull a fast one on all of us former Hillary Clinton supporters. We call ourselves P.U.M.A., in case you haven’t heard.
