This was news to me! I had NO IDEA that Martin Luther King was a Republican. It makes my choice of moving over to that party even easier. Apparently there is a gigantic history that a lot of us might not know about how it was the Republican Party who helped Black Americans, not the Democratic Party.

Funny, in my old party, I thought it was the tolerant party. Reading this history now has amazed me. I was only a child in the years the Kennedys and King were assassinated. I voted for the first time in my life against Ronald Reagan. These things are all part of my deep past. I can’t even remember why I decided to become a Democrat back then, but, I just went along with what I had always chosen, I think because I believed they were the tolerant, good party, who wanted to help minorities and women.

But, after reading this article and seeing this billboard, just like it never occurred to me that there were GAY REPUBLICANS, there are BLACK REPUBLICANS! These Black Americans are people I know! These Americans have lived out the same history I have in this country. Now, when I say I know them, I mean ideologically.

These are Americans like me! We grew up INTEGRATED! in the Post King era. It’s a relief to me to see them, truly. Same as when I read Glen Ford over at Black Agenda Report. I think Ford is closer to a Green like me, in thought, when I read him. I used to think of myself as a Green Democrat, but, now, I’m going to just shift that over and be a Green Republican.

Take a look at this! This article by Frances Rice unpacks a slice of American History from the Black perspective about Democrats I NEVER KNEW! This alone would make me not want to be one anymore, I’m serious. The DEMOCRATS were the Ku Klux Klan! Unbelievable. I never knew. I really didn’t.

At least not the way I have always felt about being a Democrat. We have always helped the poor! Not hurt them. To read this? And then to REALIZE who has been responsible for inner city poverty all these years?

Screw the Democratic Party! One of my biggest issues right now is the Obama Rezko slum connection. Over at this Black Republican web page they are looking into that too!

Right now, we have all got to become Nationalists! There is too much poverty in America and it is hurting all Americans. I feel solidarity with the Black Republicans. Like me, they would help the poor. When I worked as a therapist with the homeless I saw ALL COLORS OF PEOPLE reduced to living on the streets.

ALL COLORS. We are approaching 1930 again. We have got to fix poverty in our own country. Go after the bad guys who profit off of human misery.

I laughed when the big coffee chain’s (favorite of latte liberals everywhere) empire is crumpling. Too bad.

Too bad. Where do you think those workers are going?

I believe McCain is going to put our country first. You should see what Obama voted for in terms of Labor in this country. How foolish you Democrats are! Check the facts on him. There are a lot of places you can do that. Savage Politics had the best piece on Labor I’ve read yet, and what he did.

Something else about Senator McCain? He’s going to be putting Americans first! That is what we need right now. We need to HELP POOR AMERICANS first! Not Africans in Africa. We have kids dying in ghettoes right here, and those kids are what we need to be focusing on. OUR AMERICAN CHILDREN!

Yesterday, Bozo the Clown died. I found that old picture from the 60’s of that little boy. Bozo is kind of like Marcel Marceau, to Americans. There was only one Bozo, and that was my childhood. That little boy was my generation, in a simpler America of circuses and clowns and balloons.

Bozo and Captain Kangaroo? They helped give us our moral backbones perhaps. Next up, how McCain has some really good solutions as a maverick, and why I am putting my faith in HIM to straighten out this mess we are in right now as a Nation. He can, and he will. Because he’s a good guy. I mean that.

It’s the person, not the PARTY when I vote. Believe me, I always believed in Democrats up until now. I was one.

Until I saw the slums in Chicago and read about Rezko.

The way I feel now? Screw the Democratic Party. What have they done for the poor lately?

That’s only one of my issues with them.

We, protested the war in Vietnam, segued through punk rock, became artists, (always) because we probably had FABULOUS Liberal Arts Educations at the best kind of schools, and we think for ourselves!

After the last eight years of politics? We are never, never, never, going to have another hanging chad stuffed down our throats again.  We are going to CHOOSE! Just like we always have, when we vote.  I for one, am never going to support corrupt Chicago politicians with connections to slum landlords who think they can dress up ala  60’s in faux baubles and trash the one politician (Hillary Clinton) who I felt was actually going to be able to do some good for this country, and the state we presently find ourselves in, as the year 2009 approaches…

You and your cronies?  You never saw actual war, did you?  No, you’ve had a phat little life, except, your job bores the hell out of you doesn’t it?  You sit in a little cubicle someplace, and your only joy in life is trying to get bossy because you really don’t have any ACTUAL power!  It’s true isn’t it?

Under 30?  What meds are you on?  Chances are, these were target-marketed to you since childhood.

The question is, can you think for yourself?  Or are you brainwashed?  Your generation has been target-marketed to for the last 30 years, so, you feel comfort in going with the mass decision, don’t you?

Well we o’ the pumaclan are so much luckier than you!  We are real rebels — because, the rock and roll we listened to all our lives just reinforced that.  We don’t need to fit in with the masses.  We wouldn’t want to anyway.  Because almost everyone in this generation is proud of the fact that they are individuals!

In fact, that’s the reason I’m going McCain.  It’s because he is a TOTAL MAVERICK! Just like me!  See, his generation had their share too, of people who didn’t want to completely conform.  The super-conformists are the people who are turning against him now, over on the far, far, right.  But, they are only a teeny weeny little contingent that is the utter vastness of Babyboomsville!

To try and put the Republican mind at ease, I’m quite sure the Republicans have a lot of heterosexual green minded recycling types like us in their Party.  The Baby Boom in toto is a GIGANTIC and UNPREDICTABLE demographic!  We like it that way.

One look at that graphic?  Don’t think so…. for one thing, we’ve had black friends!  Right when your lil candidate was sitting dreaming about whether he could screw some white chicks, or not! (Over in his teenage years, in Hawaii)… Unlike him, and his afrocentric wife and cronies living up in frigidville practicing his hate-filled religion in the grimmest looking (architecturally styled) CHURCH I’ve ever seen) we aren’t like that!

I guess because post the 60’s everybody was INTEGRATED! So that bullshit about racism is so full of holes in the first place, get over it.  Our generation respects each other!  We come in all colors, and all sexual persuasions, and those that are LGBT are for the most part out o’ the closet in this generation!  Yep, we knew who was going which direction by high school, didn’t we?  Yep.  So, you start showing us your Chicago-style, racist homophobic BS?  We just laugh at you!

Now, I’m straight, and female.  My choice in life.  Other people I know aren’t.  But guess what?  Did you know there are GAY REPUBLICANS, Oh my!  Yep.  I could be friends with them.  I’ve been friends with GAY DEMOCRATS, too!  In this lifetime.  So the Chicago camp thought it was going to be able to segregate people by sexual orientation, grab all that moolah, and cut and run.  We see right through your crap, Axelsh*t.  Right through you!  And your kind of marketing is about to crush you in backlash, kiddo.  That is where you really F*CKED UP!  It’s actually LAUGHABLE, to the sophisticated set…
