Talk about a rock and a hard place! (or a limp place!) On both sides. The denial, the arrogance, the hubris of the ol’ phallic presence rearing up its increasingly (less able to think clearly) head.

There is a great article over at SFGate on all of this. I wouldn’t expect any Democratic Women to fall in line over in the PUMAcamp. We represent that HUGE group of highly educated, working women — and so many of us have been practicing feminism since our teens when it was taught to us, if not by our mothers, then their friends…

Clues for you! (in maleville) about how you really screwed up this election, bigtime. And there isn’t an effing thing you can do about it, now, because it is too late!

An excerpt from SFGate’s piece by Robin Lakoff:

“…So many women feel that the election was somehow stolen, and by their own party, to boot. They thus feel much the way many Democrats feel about the 2000 election: bitter. When one side feels that they lost an election fairly, any bitterness recedes early on (think of the 2004 election, by comparison). But when the adjective “stolen” leaps to mind, bitterness is apt to prevail, vanquishing any desire for reconciliation and cooperation. That is what many former Clinton supporters are feeling now…”

You’ll love the last few lines, and the reference to Lolita. Don’t miss that read…

The feminist vote is quite enraged at present. Mostly because of what the patriarchs have tried to do. We can all admit, I hope, by now, that sex happens among heterosexuals. We can all admit by now that most people work, and many women are not “stay at home” 1950’s style moms. Can’t we?

It makes sense not to call “birth control” methods “abortion,” doesn’t it?

So, why the big hush, hush and the big SEXUAL denial. Check this out!

But see, to us of the feminine clan, it might not just be a male’s prerogative to do this. We do it too!

Can you believe it?

And all men are not created equal in the talent department, sexually. Isn’t that sad?

Then, we get stories to read like this!

Or how about this!

We feel sorry for the wives in question…

What do you want to bet that the pumaclan is made up of very experienced women, in terms of their multiple relationships with men? You see, unlike what some men think, feminists aren’t lesbians, in toto! Some of them might be, but not all! Some women (as we all grew up after the sexual revolution happened) have had the multiple relationships to prove that we are like you men!

Exactly like you!

So, why would you try and take away birth control, when in a tanking economy nobody is going to be able to get a job in the first place to take care of a child? Things are not like the 50’s. Even though you would love to believe it…especially on the Republican side.

Marriages? They fall apart. Affairs? They happen. It’s life, even among the most religiously devout of you, no? So? Why act dumb? Or play dumb right now? We women of the pumaclan see through it. We chose Hillary Clinton for a lot of things, but as women, what she went through in her own marriage resonates for all of us. Collectively. All of our lives we’ve seen stories like the above. But to think that this is a male’s prerogative only in 2008? Not in our clan…

It’s ironic that her marriage made it, but it did. Any of us who are married know that it isn’t exactly a contract for sexiness, is it? It’s a social contract people make in heterosexual circles.

It looks like the boys better grow up a little in this election. On both the Republican and Democratic sides, no?

I can tell you one thing though. Misogyny runs rampant over in camp d’O.

No pumafemme I know will ever vote for that nightmare, now.

Giving Hillary Clinton the finger was the capper for us. So expect the finger back. From your peers, no less!

McCain? He’s had a lot of experience himself in life so far. I think he can make the right choices for the women’s vote. It’s not hard to take a pro-life stance, but still provide birth control especially in an economy like this one. And if he doesn’t? I’m sure those pro-choice Republican Senate women will have a thing to say to him…

Why would any candidate right now want to create women who as my mother used to say are “barefoot, pregnant and under the table” — when there are so few examples of decent men left on our planet?

To be fathers…

This is a GIGANTIC, SERIOUS, REAL PROBLEM.

According to this article we are going to be facing HUGE PROBLEMS in the next 20 years.

Americans look at this as some kind of “lite” thing.  It’s not.  The American Press if it were doing its job to begin with would have been on this FOUR YEARS AGO.  Reforms of the Teddy Roosevelt kind need to be made in the festering, lumbering beast that is Washington.

Where is the leadership in this country right now on this issue of garbage and global warming?  Clowning around like poseurs.  As far as I am concerned the Democratic Party has devolved into nothingness.  It’s owned by corporations that are producing toxics.

McCain’s brand of reforms might be the ONLY thing to save us.  If we are going to be in some horrible war I’d rather have him in charge.  At least he knows about the military instead of being an effing clown.  The American people’s needs and nerves have been stretched to the maxium at this point in time.

We need a ETHICAL LEADER we can TRUST.  McCain should immediately put Colin Powell back INTO place.  We need him.  A lot of Americans think he was really screwed over by the current administration.  He could help with the UN on restoring some order.  You know what?  McCain might be the only hope that I see.

There is a better way, isn’t there, than to go the route of this article off the Guardian.  We just need to MOVE FASTER.  Believe me, all you little religious and conservative quibblers right now are going to be singing the blues once these epic nightmares get worse…GLOBALLY.

Here are some quotes from the Guardian article for a taste…

“…Climate change over the next 20 years could result in a global catastrophe costing millions of lives in wars and natural disasters..

A secret report, suppressed by US defence chiefs and obtained by The Observer, warns that major European cities will be sunk beneath rising seas as Britain is plunged into a ‘Siberian’ climate by 2020. Nuclear conflict, mega-droughts, famine and widespread rioting will erupt across the world.

The document predicts that abrupt climate change could bring the planet to the edge of anarchy as countries develop a nuclear threat to defend and secure dwindling food, water and energy supplies. The threat to global stability vastly eclipses that of terrorism, say the few experts privy to its contents…”

This is the time to marshal all of the intelligence in the United States and get going on this.  The BEST thing to utilize is GREENPEACE right now, and go the GREEN WAY.  The only reason we are going to need so many nuclear plants is because of all the electronic crap that has been built in the last 20 years.  It all needs to run on batteries of some sort, doesn’t it?  And where are you going to bury all the waste and plastic?  It’s cluttering the whole planet.  Not to mention killing the sea.

To think, 100 years ago what the planet was like, and look at it now!  John McCain already believes in ecology and conservation.  He just needs to link up with the right people.

These are the pressing issues GREENPEACE is working on right now.  We could work with English and Global Greens and clean up this mess.  Couldn’t we?  John McCain already has a program he has been working on that helps women globally right here!  It’s called the Women’s Democracy Network.

But, what about OUR OWN COUNTRY?  We need to take care of ourselves right now.  Don’t we?

I know who I’m voting for.  After what happened to Hillary Clinton, no problem.  At least Republicans seem to respect women far more than any Democrats do right now.  If there were jobs in this country you would not have the WELFARE STATE Democrats created would you?

MAKE JOBS!

Make them GREEN JOBS!  It’s perfect!  Then we can HELP the WORLD by teaching it to take care of itself.

Look at this article if you want to see a dictator…do you want to elect that here?  I don’t think so

It doesn’t take much to make the LEAP over to GREEN from the old model and grid that no longer works.  It’s smaller and sustainable.  Any more poisoning of the food chain?  We can’t.  Poison the oceans?  We can’t.  The Green way cleans up the MESS that has been made of the WORLD right now.

Here is the Guardian’s whole section on environment, out of ENGLAND!

The first thing I hope McCain does is reform the American Press.  It could use a major overhaul.

I think he ought to reform the WHOLE COUNTRY and all this BLOATED EGOCENTRIC WASHINGTON MESS, starting with the PORK SPENDING that has gotten out of hand.  It’s so BOGUS.

I really think we need some grass roots movements HERE FIRST to help our own people — let the dictators overseas deal with their own countries.  Why do I like McCain?  He says “Country First!”  It’s about time somebody thought that way.  About Americans…

John McCain makes me believe in our country, again.  I wish I were working on part of his reform team, I swear.  It’s time to put the SMART PEOPLE to work on the things that really matter.  That would be affirmative action…

Hell, besides working for a paper, being a therapist and having a Masters, I can teach kids art!

That will solve a LOT of things.  I’m going to throw some more pots today.  Ceramics are totally a green thing.  Stoneware!  You make it, cook great things in it, bake in it, and store food in it!  NO PLASTIC!

NO WASTE!  And it’s ART!  Yay!

My glazes of late look green blue like the seas —- they are really gorgeous…

We need a RENAISSANCE of the kind of eco-thought we knew in the 70’s…  Life was simpler…

Bird

It was passed from one bird to another,
the whole gift of the day.
The day went from flute to flute,
went dressed in vegetation,
in flights which opened a tunnel
through the wind would pass
to where birds were breaking open
the dense blue air -
and there, night came in.

When I returned from so many journeys,
I stayed suspended and green
between sun and geography -
I saw how wings worked,
how perfumes are transmitted
by feathery telegraph,
and from above I saw the path,
the springs and the roof tiles,
the fishermen at their trades,
the trousers of the foam;
I saw it all from my green sky.
I had no more alphabet
than the swallows in their courses,
the tiny, shining water
of the small bird on fire
which dances out of the pollen.
