Well, I’d never heard of them until the other night. I didn’t realize the Democratic Party had this whole new sub-set. It seems the people behind this are a pretty interesting crowd — I wonder, given how many are “media” types, whether this group has been responsible for increasing his “astroturf” in the web. In fact, it turns out that (as I suspected earlier) they have had a really big plan to help target-market him to the public. Behind the scenes.

I wonder if Hillary Clinton and John McCain are even aware of this faction of the party. Mainstream Dems are out of the “loop” huh? But not anymore.  I mean, we’re the voters.

Geez.

Let’s start here, at the totally fab SFGate, and read some backstory on these people. Apparently, as far back as 2002, “office park dads” were a target market, and “soccer moms” were out. (No wonder feminists feel pissed off right now!)

“The new blue-collar worker, the new Reagan Democrat, is the ‘office park dad.’ ” said Simon Rosenberg, executive director of the New Democratic Network.

“They’re (baby) boomers and busters . . . these are people who make $60,000 a year, and they’re struggling to make it in the new economy.”

The “new Democrats” meeting on Monday openly questioned the effectiveness of Gore’s presidential campaign, which relied heavily on the traditionally Democratic theme of “people versus the powerful.”

Really? Well, it turns out that there is a new “big” guy in the Democratic Party — the one quoted above, Simon. And, ummm…it looks like this is his brainchild:

Really. It turns out they have quite the little agenda too. NDN. The New Democratic Network. What’s really interesting though are some of the things and people involved with them. Like that guy Markos who founded the DailyKos. He seems to be involved with something called The New Politics. Here: http://www.newpolitics.net/

Well, these new politics are sort of unusual to a lot of Democrats, huh?  Apparently they have a 50 year strategy plan.  Hmmm.  Right there on the front page.  And guess what else they have?  The exact marketing tools that have hurtled Obama right into his position.  All the blingy techy stuff those “office dads” are known to collect…and use.

In fact, you can check that out right here!

Awww.  This is all part of Axelrod’s big promo-pack.  This was his way to get that logo out there, and take a look at whose page they show to place ads on.  That’s the part where engaging the blogosphere is supposed to come in.  I bet he didn’t want to share any of this secret stragtegy stuff with Hillary Clinton and John Edwards, huh?

Oh well.  Here ya go, Hillary.  It’s all yours now.

What do you want to bet hardly anybody knows about this “think tank?”  It’s not like its the Rand Corp is it?  But the agendas are really worth checking out, as is the whole site — especially the buzz part, here:

Oh, and don’t miss their mission statement either.  New and old media types are just going to love to see that.

Green Dems?  We’re way ahead of your game, huh?  We’re way, way greener than you.  And we believe in playing FAIR when it comes to Presidential elections, kiddos.

Agendas can’t buy the American Presidency by target-marketing it.  Can they?

It’s really high time that the FEC (The Federal Elections Commission) got involved in fundraising policy as it relates to political campaigns.  Now.

First some big big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ fundraising — in which we learn about some of the big back room deals and major players…

did I just read about how to “pickpocket” Hillary Clinton?  I think I did.

Then, the fabulous Washington Post on “data mining” and the Democratic party…

But?  I didn’t know we had a New Democratic Party with its own agenda did you?  http://ndn.org/

That picture of Barack Obama pissed me off, just like all his target marketing tactics piss me off.

You know, I smell a rat.  Around all this $$$$$ especially.  Funny, there are a lot of the biggest internet sites bashing Hillary Clinton on a daily basis.  Isn’t it interesting how they all sort of teamed up together over here.

Apparently there is a new “non-profit” called NOI, or “The New Organizing Institute

Isn’t it interesting?  Why, some of the big names from that first article are in this article too!

Backstory.  You just have to love it.  Especially in these troubled Democratic times, no?
